FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Subtractions, LLC Signs Agreement with State Agency- Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority and Subtractions, LLC Partner with e-Cycling -LAUREL, MD -- (August 15, 2005) - The Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority (NMWDA) announced that they have signed a contract with Subtractions, LLC to provide computer and electronic recycling services to the NMWDA seven member counties. After nearly a year of negotiations, Subtractions, LLC and the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority signed a contract to provide computer and electronic recycling services to its' seven county members. The contract was developed in an effort to provide permanent electronic material collection and recycling services (eCycling) to each member jurisdiction. Before the Authority conducted a procurement to obtain electronic material collection and recycling services, the member jurisdictions submitted a survey detailing their historical eCycling dates, pounds collected, and the number of citizens who participated. From the survey, it was determined that permanent and convenient eCycling services were needed. Subtractions, LLC has been providing e-Cycling services to counties and private companies for over seven years from its' Laurel headquarters. Initially the company offered special event programs for counties to "test the waters" according to Sarah Manning, co-owner of the company. "What we found was that once a special event was held, the success generated interest in the community which resulted in the development of year-round, on-going programs. We now have several very successful on-going e-Cycling collection programs throughout Maryland and Virginia. This partnership with the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority will result in a streamlined procurement opportunities for the Authority's members." About the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority The Authority's mission is to plan and develop waste management systems that meet the highest environmental standards while providing the most efficient and reliable waste disposal services possible. Eight jurisdictions, including Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County and Montgomery County and the city of Baltimore are members of the Authority. The Authority has developed successful regional waste management facilities, including the Southwest Resource Recovery Facility (BRESCO) and the Baltimore City Composting Facility and have also developed regional and individual recycling programs for our participating jurisdictions.
